Wahoo KICKR Update Improves ERG Response

As someone who spends way too many hours on the trainer, I picked up the practical knowledge of this Wahoo update. Today, I will share it all with you.

Wahoo pushed a software update for the KICKR series trainers that improves ERG mode responsiveness during interval workouts. Version 6.2.1 addresses lag that some users experienced when power targets changed rapidly.

The update applies to KICKR v5, KICKR v6, and KICKR CORE models. Installation happens through the Wahoo app on iOS or Android. The trainer must be connected and spinning during the update.

ERG mode changes now take effect within 2-3 pedal strokes instead of the previous 4-5 strokes.

Wahoo also added a new “Fast Response” toggle in advanced settings for riders who prefer even quicker adjustments, though this can feel abrupt during longer efforts.

The update is free for all compatible trainers. Users report the improvements are immediately noticeable in structured workout apps like Zwift and TrainerRoad.
